Residential Programs Involving Minors

A Residential Program includes any program where a minor spends at least one overnight in the program’s physical custody and control.

In addition to the Policies and Guidelines for all programs involving Minors, all Residential Programs involving Minors must establish and clearly communicate to Minor Participants, their parent/legal guardian, and Staff, etc.

  • The borders of the campus and outlying areas that Minor Participants are permitted to explore and beyond which minor participants are prohibited without an authorized adult;
  • Rules and procedures governing when and under what circumstances participants may leave University property during the program;
  • A curfew time which is age-appropriate for the participants;
  • The program must comply with all security measures and procedures specified by University Housing Services and the Department of Public Safety.

Residential Programs at University facilities must provide a list of all program participants and a directory of program staff to the Department of Public Safety. This list shall include participant's name, local room assignment (if applicable), age, address, and phone number(s) of parent or legal guardian, as well as emergency contact information.
